The Kew Call-Out

Dave Folley plays drums with a lot of people. He plays with David Bridie, Archie Roach, Tex Perkins and Suzannah Espie. He is in Chris Russellís Chicken Walk, Mick Thomasí Roving Commission and The Killjoys.
So when his three and a half year old son Frankie was diagnosed with a serious cancer a couple of months back, there was an overwhelming motion of support from the music community in this town (and nationally) wanting to do what they can to help Dave and his partner Rachael Tidd - and of course young Frankie - as they embark upon a protracted and daunting course of treatment.

To accommodate the small army of acts wanting to play, the Kew RSL has been booked all five Sundays in May. Thatís five Sundays with three bands each day! Itís a family friendly affair and there will be sausages sizzling and some raffles with some neat prizes donated by the acts themselves and some of the hotels where Dave Folley plies his trade.

The series of events are called the Kew Call-Out. All performances, production, advertising and organisation have been offered in kind by a community of musicians, suppliers and a team of behind-the-scenes workers. Now the call out is on and the music loving public are encouraged to get on board by booking tickets to one or all of the gigs.

So where do you end up if you take the Phantom Ride?...the Trans Atlantic Highway. That's where!
Yep, Lost Ragas have a new album ready to escape titled 'Trans Atlantic Highway' and you can listen to the new single 'Marijuana Mornings' at the Lost Ragas website (click image above)

The Song -

Marijuana Mornings,

penned by Shane, is the new single from Lost Ragas to
be lifted from their forthcoming album
Ď Trans Atlantic Highway í.
Itís a song of longing, of journeying, of a moment, and how sometimes these
things can collide and deliver an epiphany, the clearest of views of something
important yet simple.
itís also just a nice melody and some cool words and some blokes bashing some
instruments.

Have a listen .... Matt
